Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

You’d probably shout out at the top of your lungs the moment someone asks you this. Who doesn’t want lots of money? In this day and age, financial security and comfort are things the majority of people aim for. And everyone knows that these are possible when you have plenty ofextra money on hand.

However these days having cash on hand is far from impossible. You don’t have to be a top executive or entrepreneur at work either just to live this well. If you know the right things to do, you’ll end up having the funds of a millionaire sooner or later.

· Look for ways to do better at your job. Superb performance at work translates to promotion, which results in a bigger pay. So find ways to up your performance to get noticed by your boss. You can volunteer for a company committee or have the initiative to do tasks that aren’t in your job description.

· Step up and negotiate. When you know for a fact that you’re performing well and deserve a higher pay, let your managers know about it. In fact, in a study by Linda Babcock, an economics professor at Carnegie Mellon, she found that those who negotiated their first salary upped their pay by 7.4% against those who didn’t bargain.

· Contribute largely in to your retirement plan or 401k. Doing so is like hitting two birds with one stone. One, you’ll definitely have a nest egg come retirement. And two, you’ll cut a portion of your income tax significantly.

· Get an early head start at saving. Young age should never be your excuse in not keeping money aside. Instead, it should be your motivation to do so. The earlier you start in saving, the closer you’ll get in reaching that 7 digit figure.

· Invest wisely. You can do this by contributing to your employer’s retirement plan or by depositing in mutual funds. Setting aside your profits from these compounding sources will significantly add up to your stash in just a few years.

· Lastly, never be lured in to fast easy money schemes. No one’s ever had it the easy way, not even the world’s richest. Not only are these schemes possible scams but could be unstable strategies that could wipe off your hard earned savings in a flash.

So if you want to boast of a seven digit figure in your life, do it the right way. Work hard, get compensated well and invest like there’s no tomorrow.
