When you want a pretty home, you usually buy pieces that can improve the aesthetics to your abode. Make Your Own Artwork
You don’t have to buy paintings if you want an artist feel in your home. In fact, you can make your own art and display it in your wall. All you have to do is scan photos online or cut old magazines, newspapers and the likes. Then using your old frames, you can replace the old pictures by your new artistic creations.
If you want a different frame, you can make your own by using materials found in your trash or storage. For instance, a wall clock that’s no longer working. Simply open the clock and carefully place the photo. You may have to cut the edges to make it fit. You can also retain the time hands for that more interesting result.
Change Your Curtains
Sometimes you don’t really need to paint the walls anew in order to create a new color for your home. When you change your curtains, especially in colors that are complimentary to the walls, you are also changing the mood or silhouette of the place. Curtains don’t have to come expensive. Good ones can be found in thrift stores and sale-yards.
Re-arrange Your Furniture
When you can’t afford to borrow money for new furniture, why not live with what you have but in a different position? This means you can rearrange your furniture in order to create an entirely new look for your home. You can change the position of the sofas and place them by the window. You can also move cabinets and tables to different sides or different rooms. You can also interchange furniture from the rooms. For instance, a coffee table can be used as a side table in the master’s bedroom. A bedroom cabinet can also replace the desk in the foyer. However, to do this you need to have an eye for detail, colors, and so on. Because your mish-mashing everything, you may end up worsening the face or aesthetic of your house. So although you’re opting to be a radical home decorator, you have to make sure that everything turns lovely.
